“What you focus on you attract”.
That’s the “Yellow Car” Philosophy.
When you think only of the things you desire in your life you create a more positive disposition and go about your day in a happier place. In doing so, your energy stays positive and you’ll actually attract more positive experiences towards you.
A recent study shows that on average we have about 70,000 thoughts in a day. Of these 70,000 thoughts, a staggering 80% of them are actually negative. It’s a fact, that as humans, we think of the negative far more than the positive.
For example:
Standard current thinking:
I don’t want to be fat.
I don’t want to be broke.
I don’t want to be old.
I don’t want to live here.
I don’t want to have this relationship.
I don’t want to be like my mother/father.
I don’t want to be stuck in this job.
I don’t want to have this hair/nose/body.
I don’t want to be lonely.
I don’t want to be unhappy.
I don’t want to be sick.
The above demonstrates how we are culturally taught to fight the negative mentally — thinking that if we do, the positive will automatically come to us. It doesn’t work that way.
How often have you lamented about what you didn’t want? Did it ever bring you what you really wanted? Fighting the negative is a total waste of time if you really want to make positive changes in your life.
The more you dwell on what you don’t want, the more of it you create. What you put your attention to expands and becomes engrained in your life.
“What you focus on you attract”.
Good news; you can change and create new thinking patterns.
Tip:
Move away from the negative, and put your attention to what it is that you really do want to be or have. Let’s turn the negative thinking above into positive affirmations.
I am slender.
I am prosperous.
I am eternally young.
I am in a better place.
I have a wonderful new relationship.
I am my own person.
I love my hair/nose/body.
I am filled with love and affection.
I am joyous and happy and free.
I am totally healthy.
By focusing on the desired results, even if they are not currently in your experience, you change the energy within you, which, just like focusing on the negatives, expands them.
Your choice…spend your time harping on negatives and constantly pushing against them, or choose to look at what you desire and pull towards those.
Every morning when you wake up, make a choice as to what you’re going to focus on.
“How do I wish to feel today”?
Life’s supposed to be fun…start today!
Live Life Awake.
